The water in front of AZURA changes more than most guests expect across a single day. At low tide, a sandbar appears a few hundred meters out, calm enough to walk to. By early afternoon, it disappears beneath water that has warmed considerably since morning.
Our watersports team keeps an informal tide chart at the beach hut, updated daily, mostly for guests who want to time a swim to the sandbar or a paddle out to the reef break without fighting a current.
The best hour, if you ask most of the team, is an hour after low tide — the water is calm, clear, and just starting to move again.
